The Brothers MacRae grew up in the hills of Cortland County, NY, on the top of Mt. Roderick, a wee mountain but a mountain nonetheless. Over the past several years the Brothers have emerged as a fresh addition to the Cortland/Ithaca music scene. They have played at numerous local venues in Cortland, Ithaca, Syracuse and Binghamton. Comprised of guitar, mandolin, upright bass, and fiddle, they play original folk music that draws from Celtic and bluegrass roots. Their first record, produced by Chris Merkley of Old Boy Records, was nominated for a Syracuse Area Music Award (SAMMY) Award for Best Americana Album of 2014. Their second record, The Old Parade, was recently nominated for a SAMMY Award for Best Americana Album of 2015.
